Life Hack #9: Mindful at Mealtime

Being mindful at meal time is an often overlooked practice as our lives get busier.

THE GOAL:

Pay attention to what you’re eating…the texture, taste, and smell…how you feel when you’re eating. The result is a richer awareness of how your food choices make you feel – both physically and mentally, ultimately enhancing your overall wellbeing.

3 SIMPLE STEPS:

1. Avoid distractions by putting down the phones or electronic devices.

2. Avoid driving or doing other things such as watching TV but rather eat at a table.

3. Put down your fork – taking breaks between each bite or every few bites followed by some deep breathing is proven to slow the eating process and help us relish in the delight of our food.
